About the Author

Scholastique Mukasonga was born in Rwanda in 1956. She is a survivor of the Rwandan genocide and has written extensively about her experiences. Her work has been translated into more than 20 languages and has won numerous awards, including the prestigious Prix Renaudot. Mukasonga currently lives in France.
