About the Authors

H. W. Janson (1913-1982) was a distinguished art historian and educator. He taught at New York University for over 30 years and was the author of numerous books on art history, including History of Art and The Picture History of Art.

Anthony F. Janson is a professor of art history at New York University. He is the son of H. W. Janson and has co-authored several editions of History of Art.
