Maria José Dupré is a Portuguese-American author and survivor of World War II. She was born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1939, and lived through the war as a child. After the war, she immigrated to the United States with her family. She is the author of several books, including We Were Six and The Children of the Resistance.
